In the third magical Stella Starflake adventure the explorers meet gargoyles, sea-gremlins, mermaids, red devil squids – even a Gentleman Flamingo!
Ice princess Stella Starflake and her father Felix are in trouble: President Fogg has expelled them from the Polar Bear Explorers’ Club, and banned them from going on any further expeditions.
Stella’s not going to be put off by rules and regulations though. She knows her friend Shay is in danger of turning into a witch wolf himself, since receiving a deadly bite on their last adventure. It’s vital that Stella and her friends set out to find the spellbook that could save his life, even if it means travelling over the cursed Black Ice Bridge.
It’s a formidable and dangerous task, and their journey takes them on a breathtaking, page-turning adventure!
Praise for the series:
‘A magical adventure of friendship, bravery and derring-do in a richly imagined world.’ The Bookseller
‘A fantastic frosty adventure.’ Sunday Express
‘Wintry, atmospheric, highly imaginative fantasy.’ Metro
‘The most huggable book of the year . . . An (iced) gem.’ SFX

Book 3 in the series. Stella and her friends have to go to the most dangerous place in the world to save her friend Shay. Can they get the book of frost back from the collector before Shay turns into a witch wolf?
My favourite characters were Queen Portia, who is a snow queen, and Stella Starflake Pearl. They walk over a cursed black ice bridge and figure out who the collector is. (Scarlett Savage.)
Best book in the series so far, lots of action and magic and great character development. Really enjoyed this one and the illustrations were fantastic, bringing the story to life.
I liked Stella best because she never gave up and I would recommend this to people who love danger and adventure.
It is really an adventurous book because despite losing the adults they continue on the quest none the less.
My favourite character is Stella starflake pearl because she keeps pushing through no matter what anyone thinks about her.
I would definitely recommend this book to someone else.
My favourite character is the Phoenix because they have wings that look like fire and fiery red eyes!
It was a really good book!
Amazing
This incredible fiction book is about Stella and her friends having to go to the Black Ice Bridge to help Shay. My favourite characters are Shay, a wolf whisperer, and Stella, an ice princess and the first ever female explorer. My favourite parts are when Stella created helpful objects and creatures by using her magical charm bracelet and when Stella, Ethan, Shay and Beanie released the Sky Phoenix explorer’s club. I would strongly recommend it to anyone who loves mythical creatures and dangerous but awesome adventures.
i would recommend
so far I have read two polar explorer books; the polar explorers club and explorers on witch mountain. I liked the book explorers on black ice bridge however it wasn't my favourite book as it took a while for the book to get into a flow.
Oh my goodness! 3rd in the series and by far my favourite. Love, love it. The story speeds forward from page 1, without delay and at an exhilarating pace. We are introduced to some wonderful new creatures, lands (the descriptions are sublime!) and to Stella’s newly developing powers. I desperately want to know more about the Islet of Gentleman Flamingos and The Lady Swans. A perfect read, thank you Alex Bell!
In this 3rd thrilling adventure, Stella, Shay, Ethan and Beanie must cross the infamous Black Ice bridge to collect the Book of Frost and save Shay and Koa, who are rapidly turning into witch wolves. They must do this all without detecting from any of the explorers clubs due to their explusion. Definitely a book to read!
100000000000000000 stars from me the books get better and better
I would definitely recommend this book to someone who likes mystery and adventure. It's really cool and exciting.
I love this fiction tale! It is so mythical and magical and it has surprising twists and turns! I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone that loves magic and myths!
I love this book and I have read the other two books. I love all the characters and their different personality’s they are all so different but work together so well. The story is lovely as they are trying to save their friend.
I liked it because it was about scary but not too scary. Lots of exciting happen in it. I like all the explorers except the jungle cat explorers' club because they are mean.
Very good and nice to get to the end of the three books, but wish there were more.
My favourite character was Melville.
I really liked it. I really liked it that Stella found another Ice queen; an Ice queen who had a warm heart, like her. I'm looking forward to the next adventure.
