Brilliant, both sinister and scary while also being full of warmth. Pog himself is extremely likeable and brings a smile with his characterful speech style. While there is plenty to fear in the darkness the more worrying side of the story is the increasing distance between the brother and sister who can't seem to connect anymore after the death of their mum...

I found the start a bit sad - and didn't enjoy Mum arriving in the urn, but loved the character of Pog

Great for kids who like mythical creature stories.

My favourite character was Pog, I liked the way he talked.

I can't wait for the next book, they left it on a cliff hanger!

I quite liked this book. It’s about two children called Penny and David who move to a new house in the woods. They meet a creature in the attic. This creature was called Pog. He was guarding a place called the necessary.
One day,David meet a creature in the forest called Kipling.But beware David,Kipling isn’t quite what he seems...
