What a great way to start the school year with these lovely, colourful illustrations and introduction to all the good things on offer at school. A comforting read for teachers and pupils as we wave goodbye to the summer holiday.

Good for new children going back to school

Seems like this would be a great book to read to children ahead of the new school year. Brings a little bit of laughter and joy that school can be a fun place, where pupils can make friends, get creative and talk to lots of different people.

I liked this book because it teaches you that you shouldn’t feel nervous when you start school because you will meet lots of new friends and learn lots

I thought the colour monster was a bit silly because he flooded the bathroom and he played with his food. He also didn’t play music properly and didn’t let anyone go on the swing. But at the end he loved everyone.

I like meeting new friends with the Colour Monster. This helped me for when I started school in September.

I enjoyed reading this book and seeing the Colour Monster change colour. I find this book interesting because I can understand the different feelings shown by the Colour Monster. I would recommend this book because it helps children to know what it may be like and how they might feel on their first day at school.
