The first book in a spellbinding children’s fantasy series, with beautiful black-and-white inside illustrations by Sarah Warburton. Perfect for fans of Cressida Cowell and Nevermoor.
Willow Moss, the youngest and least powerful sister in a family of witches, has a magical ability for finding lost things – like keys, or socks, or spectacles. Useful, but not exactly exciting… Then the most powerful witch in the world of Starfell turns up at Willow’s door and asks for her help. A whole day – last Tuesday to be precise – has gone missing. Completely. And without it the whole universe could unravel. Now Willow holds the fate of Starfell in her rather unremarkable hands… Can she save the day – by finding the lost one? Step into Starfell, a world crackling with warmth, wit and magic, perfect for readers aged 8–12. Book 2 coming in April 2020! TweetReviews
It was very funny, especially the character Oswin who was a kodblod and not a cat. It is interested me because they had to find a day that went missing.
Really good.
My favourite charictor is Oswin the kobold
It is good if you like adventure and mystery but if you are more into crime and horror I would not recommend as it is just an adventure. willow was the best but it is sad that Granny Flossy died cause she was my favourite character out of all them. it is a really descriptive book but it does get a little boring here and there.
Nice, but hard to read the language of the monster!!
Could be the best book I ever read!
Willow comes from a family of witches but she has the least interesting magical ability of them all. Yet, when Moreg Vaine , the most powerful and fearer witch, asks her to find last Tuesday Willow, her gift is exactly what the people of Starfell needs.
This was a great book. I will be using it as a class reader this year as it is interesting and twisting. There is so much going on and the world Valente has created is wonderful. I love the different characters and how each, although odd and almost useless to others, joins the band of helpers to do something amazing and heroic.
I would highly recommend this to Harry Potter fans with the magical element and anyone who enjoys adventure stories with a lot of action.
It makes me really curious, it’s really good and I really enjoyed it. I didn’t even have a clue who the bad person was either
confusing, not as good as we thought it would be
An epic start to an amazing series. This book draws you in to read more as Willow Moss sets off on an unexpected journey with Moreg Vaine and her pet Kobold (or 'The Monster Under The Bed') Oswin meeting more friends along the way trying to discover where Tuesday went.
I loved this book. My favourite character was Oswald the Kobolt. I found it a real page turner!! I totally recommend this book for any fantasy lovers.
Great book, the character Willow is very likeable and I think children will relate to her.
UKS2 children would really enjoy this
It was amazing. My favourite character was the dragon. If you like witchcraft and wizardry you are going to love this book. It's like harry potter.
It was better at the end and on the second half I adored it but on the first half it was quite hard to follow. My favourite person was Nolin Sometimes.
Great just one more book in the series to read (that I know of)!
This book is really inspiring because when you think of witches, you always think of them being really spooky and flying on broomsticks and making potions and spells. However, in this book, the characters don't do this.
I really enjoyed this book. A great adventure, gripping story and believable characters. Perfect for KS2
Very intresting
I wish I had a broom like willow
I really enjoyed this book! I loved the witches and their powers. My favourite character was Willow and Moreg because of how they worked together. I also liked that although everyone thought Willow was useless, she saved the day. It was a bit scary and confusing at times, l really liked the book and can’t wait to read the next one. I would recommend this one to someone who likes magic, witches, trolls, anything like that.
My favourite character is definitely Sometimes the forgotten teller/oubiler!
This book is definitely recommended to anybody liking mythical creatures and disappointing family members... who save the day.
This book was a fiction book about a lost day.I liked a witch called starfell because she saved the day by using her finding magic and help from some friends she makes on the way. I would recommend this book to someone who likes magic and adventure books.
A great mysterious book, but alas some parts are quite boring and didn't reach my expectations. Although the actual genre of the book is awesome and it was a great book.
I liked Willow best and I would recommend it to anyone who likes magic and unpredictable adventures.
I loved the fantasy and magic of the book. I liked Camile Moss, one of Willows sisters. It felt like when I was reading it the magic was real.
I really enjoyed Oswin's character and I liked the way the story twisted and turned to its ending.
This was a really good book! I loved all the twists and the friends she makes along the way. I like how it shows that even with "unremarkable" powers you can still do a lot of good! My favourite character was Willow because she was kind and brave! I would definitely recommend this book!
I liked this book because it had a clear structure of the story even though some characters ended with tragedy but it was really magical.
It took me a while to get into this book. I really wanted to enjoy it, but found it difficult to warm to the characters and really 'get to know' them. However, the pace seemed to pick up towards the end and then I really enjoyed it.
I liked this book although a whole chapter has fallen out of the book. My favourite character is willow and her kobold, Oswin. Oswin is a funny character and I like how the Author changed the font completely when he talks. And he says ‘wot’ instead of what. And Willow who has the power to find lost things but then she realises its up to her and her friends to save the world because Tuesday has gone MISSING! I recommend this to anyone who likes magic and fantasy books!
I thought it was magical!Willow is very intrigued about who stole the missing day.It was fiction the dragon was my favourite character. I would recommend it to someone else.
I like Willow the best because she can find lost things and I think that is a great super power.
I would recommend this book as it's exciting and scary.
