The thirteenth (lucky for us!) title in the bestselling series, from the brilliantly talented Liz Pichon. Having two sets of grandparents is turning out to be very good for me. The Wrinklies are keen on giving presents AND they’re planning a family outing which is going to be EPIC! Even Delia wants to come. (I can always ignore her.) ABOUT THE SERIES: Written in diary form Full of Tom’s doodles and pictures & his amazing sense of humour The Brilliant World of Tom Gates, was the winner of the Roald Dahl Funny Prize! Perfect gifts for boys & girls who love to laugh themselves silly The first series of The Brilliant World of Tom Gates won the Scottish BAFTA for Entertainment! Love Tom Gates? Tom Gates Epic adventure(kind of) Liz Pichon
I listened to this e-audiobook
Being a "wrinkly" myself I loved this book. However listening to it as an audio-book I missed the doodle like illustrations that make the book even funnier.
Grandma and Grandad (The Wrinklies) have returned from their around the world travels.
nnTom's grandparents are very generous and frequently give their grandchildren gifts. Tom has a new watch that his Grandparents have given him, it does all sorts including a cow mooing, much to his teacher's annoyance.
Tom is eventually invited to a party where Marcus is constantly annoying Tom as usual . Tom's sister Delia is also a constant irritation, with some very funny quips. Tom has a problem with his hair, and he decides to borrow his mum's hair gel, this doesn't help and so he has a disastrous haircut at his Granny's hairdressers.
The wrinklies and the fossils, both sets of grandparents and all of Toms cousins are all invited on an adventure outing. However, it is not Disneyland as Tom had expected, but a visit to Cramley castle. Delia has agreed to go on the outing, much to everyone's amazement and Tom's annoyance! The tropical school disco clashes with the outing. Obviously things don't go as planned....
I would recommend this book to 8-12 years .
Lots more Tom Gates books in the series.
It was fun and had alot more excitement than some of the other books.
I think this book was really good because Tom made a really funny poem. My favourite character is always Derek! I would recommend this to my friends as it is really funny and easy to read.
Packed with comedy, this book was a spectacular read! My favourite character is Tom who is very sarcastic.
I like Rooster when he has the Grandad’s wig on him.
I thought this was good because it had lots of pictures as well as writing which made it a bit easier to read. The main character, Tom, is a cool character because he is in a band and I like music.
It was a fiction and my favourite character was Marcus because he got in trouble and he laughed at Tom because he miss the disco and the craft club because he had extra lessons I would recommend this to age seven years old.
An okay book.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I only rated it four stars because at the start I didn't get the hang of the story but nearer the end I got the hang of it and it was awesome to read! My favourite characters were the two grandparents as they made believe that you an do anything no matter how old you are.
I really liked the adventure that Tom went on and how he called the slipped disco an epic adventure it’s really funny and I like the drawings as well. It was a fiction book and my favourite character is Tom because he is very funny and hungry! YES I would definitely recommend it to some and it would be my 2nd BFF Emily thrower.
It was a hilarious story, great to read
Wow
Funny book !Loved how they used so much pictures .I would DEFINITELY recommend it to a friend
I like the book because he gets stressed about not getting an invitation but when he gets it Marcus ruins the party.
