From the creators of The Night Gardener, comes a stunning new picture book about a young boy who sets sail to find a place his grandfather told him about… the spot where the ocean meets the sky. It’s a good day for sailing.
Finn lives by the sea and the sea lives by him. Every time he looks out his window it’s a constant reminder of the stories his grandfather told him about the place where the ocean meets the sky. Where whales and jellyfish soar and birds and castles float.
Finn’s grandfather is gone now but Finn knows the perfect way to honor him. He’ll build his own ship and sail out to find this magical place himself!
And when he arrives, maybe, just maybe, he’ll find something he didn’t know he was looking for.

nice story with nice thoughts
I liked that the titanic picture was in the book
I loved the beautiful illustrations. The illustrator must have been hard working. My favourite text was :
“Finn lived by the sea and the sea lived by him. It’s a good day for sailing, his grandfather would have said.”
This book had nice pictures but the name of the book scare me a bit
Because it sounded like the sky and the ocean was alive.
I loved the Great Golden Fish and I really liked how the boats rose up into the clouds. The illustrations were amazing!
Loved the illustrations
I liked Finn the best.
I'm not sure if i would recommend it or not.
It was about a little boy who went on a magical journey on her dreams where ocean meets the sky.
Absolutely incredible illustrations. This book makes your imagination soar. It touches lightly on the grief and loss of the narrator's grandfather without it being too sad. It offers escapism in the form of 'the place where the ocean meets the sky'. I like how kindly it discusses nature and the ocean, it portrays its colossal beauty well. I would recommend this book to children, especially ones that may have suffered loss. I like how it never mentions the fact that the character of grandpa is still alive in any way, but he is reflected in many of the illustrations e.g. the moon or the golden fish. This represents our spiritual link with the people we've lost, whether we believe they're still with us in any shape or form, or not.
Amazing illustrations.
I loved the book it was about a boy called finn
I loved allthe boats and the big whale.
The grandpa's child has made his own boat and the grandpa is on the moon because it happens sometimes.
I thought it was not so bad.
I have read about a boy named Finn and his dream about ocean meets sky.
I like Finn the best.
I interest it because it is mystical.
Yes I will.
This stunningly illustrated picture book captivated me as you see the imagination of a child run free. Finn is a child who is missing his grandfather and sets sail off on an adventure. Finn's grandfather inspired him with his beautiful stories of how the ocean meets the sky. The story gives opportunity for awe and wonder, while the illustrations allow children to imagine a world where anything is possible. I would recommend this book to children aged 7-11 as they embark on a wonderful journey to the magic place.
It was nice adventure.
