Great for Y1-3.
A funny rambling story. Easy to follow. Some ambitious vocabulary and great examples of expanded noun phrases and simple figurative language.
I can think of lots of children and families to recommend this book to.

My favourite character was Kevin because I love ponies and he was a flying one who ate biscuits! The best part of the book was when the sea monkeys trapped a teacher and had to sit on the roof of the school.
It was funny and my favourite character was Kevin.
There were some funny characters and I mainly like this book because it had a happy ending.
It was a funny and good book because Kevin the fictional flying pony was hit by a colossal storm this made him fly to max’s balcony and max always wanted a pet so he let him in.After there was a flood and max and Kevin helped everyone.
I like this book because it’s got a flying pony and I like how Kevin and Max help the people in the flood like Mr Mould. My favourite character is Daisy but you have to call her Elvira because she’s going though a goth phase Which I love because I love goth things.
