This is about an apocalyptic future where a girl kills anything she touches.
I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, in love!!!
This book is awe strucking and i couldnt put it down once i started
amazing.
I loved this book it gave me something to do instead of scrolling on my phone !
It was like my peace , my happiness.
It was a fictional dystopian book revolving around this girl named Juliet who can kill someone’s with one touch . She gets taken from the mental asylum and gets transported to this fancy building with Warner , she also falls in love with Kent adam . i definitely would recommend it to most girls 13+
So I actually really appealed to the idea that the main protagonist Juliette, has powers which mean that she can't touch anyone. I really enjoyed the writing style, the dystopian world, and the way that Juliette seems so vulnerable and lost makes me sympathise with her more, and makes her more real to me. Her entries are so raw, and her thoughts that I can also relate too make her a more appealing character to me, as she's someone that I can see myself in partly. The strikeouts and metaphors are something I found really interesting to interpret, and it really left me wondering exactly what Juliette's feelings, because sometimes, you feel contrastic emotions but don't know how to write them other than in something that sounds just as confused as you feel. I like it.
I think that something I want to know more about is character development, and whilst I know this is part of a series, I really wanted to get to know more about Adam, and the antagonist, Warren, because there's something about him that just makes me think that there's more to him, and right now, his character just seems really inconsistent. Adam doesn't really get any development and the fact that he and Warner can both touch Juliette (her lover and her main enemy) seems a bit too convenient for me, like we aren't given a reason why. Sure, it could just be a fluke like Juliette seems insistent on, but it just doesn't work like that for me. Also, kissing when your trying to stay alive? I honestly don't have much of a problem with romance, but please, keep your priorities straight. I also wished it had more of a plot, sure she has to escape, but after that? It's just the development of a Juliette's relationship with Adam, who, like I mentioned before, has hardly any character.
Overall, the style of writing I really enjoyed, and the character of Juliette is well developed as she becomes more confident, as less strikethroughs appear. The romance is decent, but needs better timing and I definitely feel as if there's more to the story than what we are told. It definitely focuses more on the romance and drama rather than the plot, so I think I would recommend it to dystopian romance lovers if anything.
Love it . Got every genre.
I absolutely loved this book because eit shows what can happen if climate change can get to far that noone can can stop. It also shows how someone with issues that they can't control can get locked up or sent into isolation at a young age. This book also shows the power that people have and that they seem mean on the outside but they have a soft spot for some people.
It was really good.
I really loved the story plot. It was a fun read and I can't wait to get the sequel! Kenji is my favourite character with his constant on-crack energy :D
It was written in a way I didn’t enjoy personally but will try the whole series
I bought this book from The Works as a series of YA reads due to the cover which was intriguing. It was set in a Dystopian world where humans have made such a mess of the planet the Reestablishment have taken over and are trying to run everything. They are portrayed as 'the baddies' as they are holding Juliette prisoner in a shocking manner - she has the power to kill with a touch, but describes this power as a curse and appears to be (understandably) in the process of a mental breakdown. With the help of Adam she escapes and starts to learn to understanding her emotions and feelings.
The book gives some positive messages for young people about resilience, mental health, empathy and growing up without making them in your face and the purpose of the story. Would recommend for ages 14+
This was one of the best books I read!! The climax about when Juliette was running away with Adam was such a tension and I think they should be together, can’t wait to read the rest of the books
I found that at first, the book wasn't as gripping as I would have expected for a book I'd been recommended many times. I'm so pleased that I continued reading however as the book did then increase in pace after a few chapters and the dynamics between characters just make it that much more enjoyable. Team Aaron all the way through though.
Shatter me is amazing, full of romance and plot twists
This took me one day to finish this book because i was just binge reading this! My favourite character is obviously the main character Juliette and she is just really cool even though she has the ability to kill someone with a touch. Definitely need to read this
