A tough read but one I woud happily share with KS3 students. Its also a verse novel format so that can be explored too. It also makes it relatively quick to read so have the experience of a whole story and how this is structured.

I found this book very sad but still I loved it, my favourite character was Ed because of his determination and being positive even if he's almost certain he will die.I would recommend this to someone who is OK with sad books.

It was an incredibly sad book. Not for people dealing with trauma...

"Moonrise" is an exceedingly touching and intriguing novel that is delivered with compassion and depth. It speaks on love and life just as much as it does on death and grief. This book brings tears to one's eyes.

I think Moonrise is an extremely sorrowful and touching story.
The person I like best is Ed because he is able to remain positive even though he has been on the death row for 10 years an has been wrongfully accused of murdering a cop at age 18.
I would recommend it to ages 11+.

Love a poetry book! Not as good as the likes of Poet X or Black Flamingo, but certainly a good read.

I think this book show to never give up.

The book was an emotional rollercoaster in hopes of having a happy ending despite the obvious clues of what may happen, The main character, Joe, illustrates his emotions and feeling of what has happened to his older brother, Ed, who he very much admired despite being charged for murder, My favourite character by far must be Ed who was honest and quite optimistic of his situation while his world was crumbling down which I very much admire about him.
I would also definitely recommend this book since it gives a well written insight of the many emotions that occur when a close family member is accused of a crime and how heart breaking the whole ordeal is.

I liked it when memories of Ed came into his brothers mind.

This book, was the first book that made me shed tears in a long time! I would recommend this to 12+ readers, as some mature themes are hinted.
I have already read Crossan's 'One', and absolutely loved the book.
'Moonrise' is a book about a boy named Joe's brother, who is on death row.
Ed has been accused of murdering a policeman, the only problem is, he never killed him.
10 years later, Ed's execution date is set.

This book made me think about how grateful i should be, as no death penalties are in the UK.
I think Death Penalties should not exist anywhere.

My favourite character in this book is Ed, as even though he is accused, he manages to stay positive.

I would recommend this book to older readers
