What would you do if you woke up to find all the grown-ups had disappeared?
If you’re like Lucy Dungston, you’ll do anything to get to the bottom of it.
With no grown-ups, chaos descends on Lucy’s town. Kids are running wild, building roads of trampolines and eating cereal for every meal – but Lucy wants her mum back, and nothing is going to stop her.
Not even the monsters who live in the upside-down world beneath her bed…
Tom Fletcher’s bestselling story is packed with stinkerful black-and-white illustrations by the disgustingly talented Shane Devries and is perfect for kids to read independently or together with a grown-up!
Praise for The Creakers:
‘A stonkingly good novels for the over-sevens . . . gleeful descriptions of malodorous underworld creatures, it’s both a compelling adventure and a nuanced celebration of friendship and family love’ The Guardian
‘The illustrations are stunning and the storyline is full of twists and great ideas’ R Patterson, Toppsta Reviewer
‘10 out of 10 bum trumps!’ Guff the Creaker

Read this as Y3 study it and I wanted to be able to talk to them about it.
“Creatures under the bed” may be an issue for some younger/less mature learners.
The story is based on a girl who found a secret . That secret was that she had found another world that was under her bed. Living there were the Creakers. I liked this book because there were lots of mysterious secrets. The person I liked the best was Lucy.
I like how at the end they make a giant bed for the creakers to come and collect some rubbish that they chucked there and then they all fall asleep and Lucy never gets to see the creakers
The creakers were the best characters because they live under your bed and hate the sun!
It was a bit scary at first, then sad, then ended with a very happy ending!
Bit of a creepy story in some places but also very funny and lots of fun to read.
I liked the bit when they were driving the rubbish truck and all the rubbish fell on the floor.
Full of surprises
So good so magical and adventurous what more to look forward to!

I like that it was mysterious and was supposed to be scary but it was fun
I liked the storyline, the characters and pictures.
A fictional book about monsters under children’s beds. The Woleb is their home spelling below backwards. Sniff was my favourite character because he became the new king and he is very kind. Recommend to read.
I loved this book. I love all Tom Fletcher books.
I like the character Lucy because she saves the parents from the Creakers I recommend this book to my family and friends
