""I like to smell my own farts."" Gah! Someone shut me up!
It’s been 92 hours since Beaky last told a lie. So far he’s survived two full days of school with only three light beatings, two telling-offs and one wedgie … but the annual school trip is going to take Beaky’s survival skills to a whole other level – especially as a mix up in the school office means that Beaky and his class are on a trip to Learning Land, an educational theme park aimed at eight-year-olds. And home to cheery-but-creepy Clumso the Clued-up Clown whose job is to dish out fascinating facts to one and all.
But there is worse to come when Beaky’s partnered with Wayne, a.k.a the school bully, who has a morbid fear of clowns. With Beaky unable to tell a lie and Wayne intent on beating him up, things aren’t looking good. And that’s before they find themselves on the run from a manic clown who’ll seemingly stop at nothing to track them down.
Reviews
I liked the bit at the end where Madam Shirley waved to Beaky through the bus window.
I liked that Wayne and Beaky were chased by a clown mascot
Funny book, but hard to get into. The main character not being able to lie made it funny.
I like theo he is funny and a good friend for beaky and understands him well and when beachy is in trouble theo would always try to help
I liked it because it was funny that he couldn't tell a lie and some of the things he couldn't keep a secret were very very funny.
My favourite character was Destructo the Dog because he was able to eat anything.
I would recommend it to someone if they liked reading and if they liked jokes because it was funny.
It was very funny and I liked the flashback. I also liked how everyone thought Dillon was lying even though he was not. I recommend this book to people who like funny books.
I thought that it was a fascinating book that made me laugh because it had all sorts of humour and fears that people have in real life. It even scared me once or twice because of Clumso the clueful clown but the only thing he was chasing for was to tell them a fact which was really informative.
This isn't the best series in the world. I wouldn't recommend it!
I thought it was good because it was about a boy who could never lie. He went on a school trip where he thought it was Thrill World but there was mix-up with the coaches and he had to go to Learning Land instead. He was not happy about this.
There was also a bully who was nice to the teachers but horrible to the children. But in Learning Land there was one thing he was afraid of - Clumso the Clued-up Clown.
In the end Beaky came out alive because the bully was very angry at him because he told the whole class that when Clumso came to teach him one day he wet his pants.
I liked Clumso because he was only trying to tell a fact when the bully attacked him but he didn't have a chance to say it.
I Found this book very funny and interesting I would recommend it for lots of people. I like the sound of madam sherrly she sounds crazy like me although I do not invent things that make you don’t lie.when I read This book I always I almost felt sorry for Beaky as I would not like to be in his position and not be able to lie but people think you’re only lying and used to think you weren’t down whenever you have been lying in the past. Be really surprised if there really was such thing as a machine made you stop lying as that sounds very impossible
This book was a fiction book and it was quite funny and also very wired.i would recommend it to anyone who likes either of those things.
I liked it were beaky shouted on the bus
Wayne nearly wet himself when he saw the clown
The main character name is Beaky Malone. He used to be a liar but a machine made so he can't lie. The enemy in this book is called Wayne Lawson who acts like a sweetheart but is a bully that likes to hurt people.
I like the descriptions of the place where it was set.
The clown was my favourite character
Scariest school trip ever!
Pretty good.
This book is very humorous as it tells the story of a boy who survives two full school days. I recommend this book to those people who are in middle or secondary school as they will connect to the story better.
Because there is a very funny clown that chases two kids round a theme park.
