Very mysterious
Read this before introducing to our school library and after recommendations from another reader. A good book with lots of intriguing characters and mystery.
Definitely recommend.
I liked this book because it was interesting and an adventure story. I liked the mystery of it and the way that the main character beat the villains. My favourite characters were Moth and Piglet because Moth is really kind, cool and adds to the mystery of the book and Piglet is really funny.
I enjoyed the twists
I thought that this book is intriguing and full of twists and turns. The book is fiction, about a girl called Henrietta and her family. Her family is tried to be taken away from her. Her little sister and Mum, who is sick, are rescued by Henrietta. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to connect with book and loves mysteries.
I enjoyed this book. It was very gripping and spooky!
The author wrote in a very detailed way helping me to imagine the scene and feel as though I was with Henrietta (the main character) throughout the whole story. My favourite character was Henrietta as she was very determined and brave even though she was experiencing some very tough moments in her life. This book is very inspiring as it gives a message to never give up no matter how hard the situation is.
I would recommend it to anyone that loves reading adventure stories with sci-fi and mystery.
I loved this book because it was about family and friendship. My favourite character was Robert because he helped Henrietta when she was in trouble. I would recommend this book.
The person I liked best was Henrietta because even though she was going through a hard time in her life, she still didn’t give up and managed to piece her family back together. I would definately recommend this book.
it was sad. it was fiction. i dont recomend this book
Interesting-Adventurous-Life.
I love this book. I thoughted that it was so sad that Henryeta's family needed to seperate. My faviroute charter is Piglet/Ruberta because at the end, when farther says to Piglet, whats your name, Piglet says BOBBY!!!
It was interesting but slightly confusing.
Absolutely loved this magical book. The characters- especially Hen- are all interesting. It takes a while to get into it, but this is one of those books which if you just give it a chance, you are rewarded. Blown away.
I really like the backstory and adventure in this book.the plot line is amazing .I hope Lucy Strange creates more books like this .I liked Henrietta (Hen or Henry for short).
This is my favourite book.
This is a super book! Lovely descriptive language, it really touches your heart.
This is a really exciting and mysterious book with lots of twists! I really enjoyed it because it has a range of scary, exiting and thrilling parts! What a GREAT book!
I really like this book because its full of emotions:Sadness, anger, happiness and so on. It is full of secrets and adventures. I am also sure it will make you cry...
This is that rare beast, a book that the entire book club finished and everyone enjoyed!
We found this book to be very traditional in the way the story flowed, the distinction between the very bad and the very good characters, and the fact that we are following a child who has been abandoned by their parents. It felt very much like The Railway Children in that this child is left to fend for herself while trying to hold her family together only for everything to turn out well in the end. On the topic of the very good characters, we loved the lawyer especially, and little Piglet and her facial expression really brought her character to life.
This book sparked a discussion of postnatal depression and grief and how we deal with these things today compared to the way they dealt with it during the time period of this book. Some of the things threatened to both Henry and her mother were truly horrifying. We've no idea how these things were thought to work and actually help people!
We felt terribly sorry for both the parents in this book, they just didn't know how to cope with what had happened and clearly running away to another house didn't help either of them. It was a good job that Henry was able to work through her grief with the help of Moth to finally bring her family back together.
On a side note, this book is simply gorgeous! It just makes the reading experience that much nicer to have such a beautiful book in your hands. This is one that we all felt people should own in hard copy rather than an ebook.
Overall, this is just a truly lovely book, both for it's gorgeous physical nature and for the story held within the covers. It definitely changed some of the book groups mind about reading books intended for a younger audience.
