I liked the excellent storyline and the characters, particularly Alex and the challenges he had to overcome.

There is always more than one version to every story. In this book, you get to find out both sides. Dan is angry and has been ever since his brother left, and is taking it out on one person in particular, Alex. Dan is not the only one who is struggling. Alex is finding it hard to make friends, and his OCD hasn't made it any easier for him. But when their parents arrange for them to work on the one thing Dan shared with his brother, they're forced to work as a team and sort out their differences.

This book was ok but it didn’t really keep me interested in the story. I did persevere though so I could finish the book.

Dan is angry after his brother leaves when sent to a detention centre. Alex has ocd and likes to keep everything tidy. Dan bullies Alex. Alex goes to the movies and sees Dan he feels the day can't get any worse. There mums talk and set up a play date. When he comes over Dan reluctantly shows him the starship he and his brother worked on before. They work together to fix the wooden starship and become great friend. This is a fantastic story. I would recommend it.

If you are looking for a non-fiction book this is the perfect one to choose from my perspective. It is full of mystery and wonder. If you enjoy a good questionable book this is the one. It is also about friendship.

A good book

It was fiction, I liked Dan the best because although he is a bully he showed the reason behind it. And I enjoyed reading the two different sides of the story

I’ve never really wondered what it would be like to have OCD but this book shows you in a very real way. I felt sympathy for Dan but not really for Sophie but maybe that’s because we don’t get to know her as well as the main characters. Would I have sympathy for her if I knew her back story? The school setting feels very realistic too and the pace of the story keeps you turning the pages

This book is about two boys: Alex, who is struggling with his OCD, and Dan, whose brother (Ben)...... not gonna say so I don’t give the story away! Anyway, Dan and his friends bully Alex and Alex’s BFF from Primary School. That is until their mums become friends and arrange the boys to meet...
I know it sounds kinda cheesy, but it is rlly good since it switches point of view from Dan and Alex in every chapter, so u get to see what they think of the situation.

This is a really gripping story about a boy with OCD. His mum then makes friends with the school bully’s mum and assume that they are friends. His OCD makes it even harder for him but eventually SPOILER ALERT they begin to be the best of friends.

it's a story about a bully and his bully friends and they are mean to another boy. They are at school and the story is about what happens to them all. It's a good story. I liked the cover orange is my favourite colour!

I give this book 5 stars! I didn't think I'd like it because I'm a girl and it seemed like a boys book, but I was wrong! It was really good and I think boys and girls will like it because it's about friendship in the end. It also has places in it that I know because it's set where I live and I don't know any other books that have places here in them. It's Brighton!

I liked the Bubble Boy, so I was excited to see there was another book by this author. It's about two boys in Brighton who have to build a raft together because their Mums say they have to. They don't want to and one boy bullies the other one. He's not very nice. Our teacher read this to us in lunchtime reading club and we really enjoyed it. We talked about how we were surprised that we felt sad for the boy who was the bully. Probably more than the other boy because he's a bit weird. I give it 5 stars because I liked the story and how it went from one boys story to the other. And because it has Star Wars in it!

I really enjoyed reading this and definitely give it 5 stars! I had to wait ages to borrow it from the school library as it was always on loan, so I guess other children think it's good too. Dan and Alex don't get on and Alex has funny things he can't do - like he can't step on bird poo otherwise he freaks out. He made me laugh, but I guess you're not supposed to laugh at him really. Life is a big challenge for him and he gets bullied by Dan. Dan and his gang are horrible - especially Sophie. But in the end you understand why Dan is so horrible and then you kind of feel sorry for him and not Alex so much. You have to read it to see what I mean - hope you don't have to wait as long as I did though! I really like The Bubble Boy too, which is also written by this author.

My mum read this with my brother and I listened in! I like books with good characters and this has two Dan and Alex. It's a great story and shows how two people can be friends even if they start off not liking each other. The boys have to spend time together even though they don't want to, but in the end it all works out. That's not a spoiler by the way, you have to read the whole story to find out what happens.

The characters in this book are great. You feel like they could be at your school, but I'm glad Dan and his gang aren't at our school. They are horrible to a boy called Alex, but I don't think Dan wants to be mean he's just upset and angry because his brother has gone away and he misses him. Dan and Alex have to build a raft together on the seafront and they don't want to be together at first, but then they find a way to get on and the story is about friendships and makes you think about how bad bullying can be. But it also made us think about why someone might be a bully in the first place. I'd never thought of that before. I really liked the story and I didn't want to get to the end of the book because I didn't want the story to stop.

My Mum read this to me last summer and then I reread it by myself. I like the fact that you hear from each boy in turn. They have a chapter each. The bullies are horrible and I wouldn't want that to happen to anyone, but it shows what must happen to some kids and that's awful. I don't know anyone who is bullied like that, it must be scary. I think Dan is brave although he's a bully and he doesn't really want to be like that. Alex is weird, but he can't help it. Other kids should just be patient with him. I think everyone in year 5 and 6 should read this - so you can understand what it's like to be bullied and then you'd never bully anyone. If you saw someone being bullied you'd definitely want to tell someone after reading this book. It's one of the best things I've read this year.

This is such a brilliant story and the characters are really good. Dan is a bully and he bullies Alex who has difficulties with stuff, like not wanting to touch stuff unless he has his gloves on. He has OCD, which means he fusses about things a lot. Not because he's a nuisance, but because he can't help it...it's just how he is. Other kids don't get that and they tease him. They end up having to build a raft together on Brighton seafront one summer holiday, but they really don't want to work together. The story is about what happens when they build the raft and get to know each other...
