This is a tense and sometimes very scary psychological thriller. Published in 2017 it’s Book 8 in Carter’s Robert Hunter series, although it could certainly be read as a standalone novel. Detectives Hunter and Carlos Garcia work on only the most violent crimes and this story concerns a serial killer who chooses his victims by scouting the streets and social media networks. I've read some of the Robert Hunter series before and enjoyed them even though I think the protagonist is sometimes a bit too clever for his own good! Sadly I thought this novel was rather lazily plotted and I'd worked out who the killer was very early on. Nonetheless, I still enjoyed reading this.
