Every Saturday morning the Greg family goes off to shoot animals and birds. But the girl who lives next door hates hunting.
Now it’s made her so angry she’s PUT THE MAGIC FINGER ON THEM ALL. And very strange things have begun to happen . . .
And now you can listen to THE MAGIC FINGER (with THE MINPINS) and other Roald Dahl audiobooks read by some very famous voices, including Kate Winslet, David Walliams and Steven Fry – plus there are added squelchy soundeffects from Pinewood Studios!
Also look out for new Roald Dahl apps in the App store and Google Play- including the disgusting TWIT OR MISS! and HOUSE OF TWITS inspired by the revolting Twits.

I liked it when Mr and Mrs Gregg and William and Philip turned their surname into “Egg” instead of “Gregg”
I think it’s bad to shoot animals. They deserved to be turned into ducks! The girl’s magic finger should not do that to people even if they deserve it, but maybe I wish I had a magic finger!
I liked the girl because she has magic powers
I really liked it, it was quite funny.
I rated it 4 stars because it had a little girl who blasted out magic from her finger whenever she was angry, and I just thought that was expressing her feelings in a bad way.
It was funny when the greegs family turned into a duck .
It was awesome there was a magic finger
I liked this book because it was so different. I didn’t like this book because it was completely bananas.
If the family had stayed as birds it would have been a scary story.
I liked the magic in it. The girl was my favourite person.
I love how the message of this book was like what comes around goes around
I like the cover
It was fiction,I liked the girl,I liked it when they turned into birds
It was funny because the people got wings and had to make a nest and almost got shot
I think it was so short
I liked how the girl saved the ducks from getting killed
I like the girl has magic finger, because she is kind and emphatic, though she can not control her power when she is cross. But She taught the Gregg family a lesson by turning them to the birds they tried to hunt. So they can stand in bird's positions to feel and to be kind/empathic.
I will recommend it to others definitely
I liked the girl with the magic finger, but I didn't like the bits where they killed animals.
Jack really enjoyed this story. Humour is important to him as is magic so a perfect combination. Raced through it in a few sittings at school and home.
I liked the 2 little boys
I like this book because I like magic and the magic finger is my favourite thing in this book .
I loved the book and I would recommend it
i disliked it because it was a bit boring and it wasn't really a book i would like to read
I liked Mrs Greg the most .I would recommend this book to someone else
It was funny when they turned into birds and the birds turned into humans.
The magic finger is very nice book for children who love to read and love imagination it was very fun to read it but it also has some words that I think would make it 8+
It would be nice to have some colours but I like the girl in the book who has and finger that is magical
I wish I had a magic finger too. I would stop every person who is rude to my mummy .
I thought it was good but it was a bit too ducky for me.
I would recommend it someone else
I did not like that the Gregg family were trying to shoot at the ducks.
The book was really good as it was very funny. My favourite part was when Mr gregg came out of his bed and he was small with wings.
