Danny lives in a caravan with his father, the most marvellous and exciting father any boy ever had. All the land around them belongs to Mr Victor Hazell, a rich snob with a great glistening beery face and tiny piggy eyes. Nobody likes him, not one-little bit. So one day, Danny and his father concoct a daring plot that will give the old blue-faced baboon Victor Hazell the greatest shock of his life – so long as they don’t get caught … Do you love audio books? Danny’s mum was really kind until she died and his dad was left on his own. All the love he had on his wife is now on Danny. He is such a sparky guy. He doesn’t laugh either his mouth, he laughs with his eyes which means it’s genuine.
Going up against baddies - standing up to those more powerful - dad and son book. Great for boys
descriptive and pleasant
This book is about sneakiness and helping others.
Fun and exciting
It was really nice and it was almost as if you were inside the story.
Love the message at the end about being a sparkly parent and having fun with your children. Great story showing a boy having fun with his dad.
It is an excellent book and I think that Roald dahle is perfect.
It is about Danny who lives in an old gypsy caravan with his father, the most marvellous and exciting father anyone ever had.

It was great. I liked the character Danny.
I absolutely fell in love with this book the love and courage and bravery in this book is fantastic
I wish it was a longer book but I really liked it. I liked the bit when the pheasants dropped out of the trees because they were asleep, it was very funny.
It was non fiction, I liked Danny’s dad the most because he came across as kind. I enjoyed the part when Danny had to rescue his dad from falling into the trap and the doctor came to help in the middle of the night. I would recommend this book to others.
I love this book! Danny is so brave and I’m glad it had a happy ending!
I think Roald Dhal is a good author because his cool sentences inspired me. My favourite part in this book is when the BFG giant is tall enough to reach chidlrens windows and has a suitcase and a long vacuum sucker and makes dream powder for children.
Fantastic story!
I liked how all the pheasants and sleeping pills were working I don't like that all the keepers have guns
I liked this book because it was a good book to read when you are board and i found it interesting as you could get ideas of what happened in the book. My favourite person is Danny's dad as he had a big dark secret . iI would recommend this book to people who like poaching
My favourite bit was when all of the pheasants flew out of Mrs Clipstone's pram.
A delightful tale
A good book to encourage thinking about the past.
I thought this book was amazing because of the part in the book when Mr Victor Hazell sweared well that was the bad part of the story because I don't like swearing
I liked this book because it is adventurous.
I did not like it because it was about killing pheasants.
It’s so adventurous I think kids would love this
Brilliant story
The first thing I thought of it was that the whole thing was just a bunch of random stuff and a boy would go to the Olympics.
My favourite Roald Dahl book . Low expectations, those were definitely met
I liked it because at the start Danny thought his dad was the best dad in the world but he found out his dad was breaking the laws and got really sad.
Amazing, I loved it so much!
Boring start but exciting, sad and interesting end
