""A true genius . . . Roald Dahl is my hero"" – David Walliams
""So Matilda’s strong young mind continued to grow, nurtured by the voices of all those authors who had sent their books out into the world like ships on the sea. These books gave Matilda a hopeful and comforting message: You are not alone.""
Matilda is the world’s most famous bookworm, no thanks to her ghastly parents.
Her father thinks she’s a little scab. Her mother spends all afternoon playing bingo.
And her headmistress, Miss Trunchbull?
She’s the worst of all.
She’s a big bully, who thinks all her pupils are rotten and locks them in the dreaded Chokey.
Despite these beastly grownups trying to push her down, Matilda is an extraordinary girl with a magical mind.
And she’s had enough.
So all the terrible adults had better watch out, because she’s going to teach them a lesson they’ll never forget!
Now you can listen to MATILDA and other Roald Dahl audiobooks read by some very famous voices, including Kate Winslet, David Walliams and Steven Fry – plus there are added squelchy soundeffects from Pinewood Studios!

I like that Matilda read lots of books
It was fun
I like Miss Honey the most because she treats everyone like they are her own child and my favourite character is Matilda. My favourite part of the story is at the end when Matilda does magic on Miss Trunchbull the meanest person who lived on the pages of a book.I think the chocky is the not a nice place to go to.
I like it because at the end Matilda got to live with Miss Honey and Matilda's parents cared about her first time. My favourite character is Miss Honey because she is nice and polite. She treats people as the same way she wants to be treated. I recommend someone to read this book because it got a happy ending and it's a very nice story about very talented young girl. It makes you feel like you want to be Matilda right now.
Matilda has very special powers. She can move things with her mind.

I liked when lavender put a strange creature in miss trunchbowls jug
As we all know, Matilda is a childhood classic but reading it again as an adult has been delightful. Roald Dahl’s ability to craft an entire world in his writings, while also utilising larger words to challenge his younger readers is incredible. I can see why this book has the reputation that it does and why students and teachers alike keep going back to it. It provides a unique dual perspective from Matilda as the student and Miss Honey as the teacher, allowing both parties to enjoy the tale while learning from Matilda’s genius. I will say that deeper discussions could potentially...
Read more...Matilda is a four year old who has a very large mind. Her parents treat her like -in Roald Dahl's own words- a scab. Matilda reads a lot of the adult books in her local library. One day she goes to school. The head mistress is a very mean lady called Miss Trunchbull. Miss Honey who is very nice was Matilda's teacher thought Matilda was quite special and needed to be in a class with the older children. Miss Trunchbull refused.
It is my favourite book proving that you can defeat any bad person not depending on your sids
