""A true genius . . . Roald Dahl is my hero"" – David Walliams
""So Matilda’s strong young mind continued to grow, nurtured by the voices of all those authors who had sent their books out into the world like ships on the sea. These books gave Matilda a hopeful and comforting message: You are not alone.""
Matilda is the world’s most famous bookworm, no thanks to her ghastly parents.
Her father thinks she’s a little scab. Her mother spends all afternoon playing bingo.
And her headmistress, Miss Trunchbull?
She’s the worst of all.
She’s a big bully, who thinks all her pupils are rotten and locks them in the dreaded Chokey.
Despite these beastly grownups trying to push her down, Matilda is an extraordinary girl with a magical mind.
And she’s had enough.
So all the terrible adults had better watch out, because she’s going to teach them a lesson they’ll never forget!
Now you can listen to MATILDA and other Roald Dahl audiobooks read by some very famous voices, including Kate Winslet, David Walliams and Steven Fry – plus there are added squelchy soundeffects from Pinewood Studios!

Very long but good took a couple of days to finish it amazing
I liked this book because Matilda was magical and the book lets you imagine it all.
I liked when Miss Trunchbull threw the girl with pigtails.
I loved this book because its about this girl who loves reading but she was born to have cheating parents who are mean to her and are time wasters who use tv all day but matilda has intellegance of smartness with all the books she readed but her teacher miss honey is absolutely sweet and her princeble trunchbull is very mean
Favourite part of the story was when Matilda’s parents agreed to let her stay with Miss Honey.
Read 2 times over summer.
Loved this!
I liked when lavender put a strange creature in miss trunchbowls jug
As we all know, Matilda is a childhood classic but reading it again as an adult has been delightful.
Roald Dahl’s ability to craft an entire world in his writings, while also utilising larger words to challenge his younger readers is incredible. I can see why this book has the reputation that it does and why students and teachers alike keep going back to it.
It provides a unique dual perspective from Matilda as the student and Miss Honey as the teacher, allowing both parties to enjoy the tale while learning from Matilda’s genius.
I will say that deeper discussions could potentially take place between students and teachers about Matilda’s behaviour, and whether it is justified as a retaliation to the horrid adults in her life. Perhaps this could even act as an introduction to ethics (like Kant) for older students within a philosophy club.
Matilda is a four year old who has a very large mind. Her parents treat her like -in Roald Dahl's own words- a scab. Matilda reads a lot of the adult books in her local library. One day she goes to school. The head mistress is a very mean lady called Miss Trunchbull. Miss Honey who is very nice was Matilda's teacher thought Matilda was quite special and needed to be in a class with the older children. Miss Trunchbull refused.
It is my favourite book proving that you can defeat any bad person not depending on your sids

Super fun book. The story is intriguing.
I loved it.
Great book
Probably longest fiction book that Roald Dahl, the great storyteller, and the legendary illustrator Quentin Blake illustrated, the long book containing tens and tens of characters. The character liked best by me was Matilda and Miss Honey. The most hated character was the dreaded Miss Trunchbull.
I don't like that horrid Miss Trunchbull
This has always been my favourite book!!! A fabulous story about a little girl called Matilda who is so independent and clever but her parents are just too mean to see it. Matilda goes to school (at last) her teacher is lovely but her parents don’t think so. Her head teacher is not so nice but her parents think she is. I would recommend it X
My favourite part was when Matilda out super glue on her, dad's hat.
This is one of my favourite books . She loves reading books like me and love how she’s very talented
I think it's a really good book. It made me laugh so hard it made my tummy hurt.
About a book worm and cruel parents finding how cruel a life can be
Matilda is so brave and ambitious, she can achieve anything!
This was a really good book. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I liked Miss Honey best because she was really nice. My favourite chapter was the Third Miracle because I liked when Matilda wrote on the chalk board. I would recommend this book to other children to read.
Everyone has to read this book
How can such a little girl be so smart? My jaw dropped. I was so shocked. My favourite character was Miss Honey because of how kind she was. I would definitely recommend this to others.
I liked when Mrs Honey and Matilda got to live together, when her parents and brother went to Spain forever.
This book was fiction. I liked that Matilda had a nice life even though her family didn’t care about her. She was very creative. I would recommend this book to my friends
very good
