The book is a very well drawn graphic novel .My favourite characters are Hilda and Twig. I would recommend it to people who like fun adventure graphic novels.
The book was alright but I found the story confusing at times.
I have been reading the Hilda series in the classroom and I am addicted!
This book caught my attention with its dramatic graphical style, simple, colourful drawings and large size. It’s a brief read for an adult but you could give it more time to really drink in the illustrations.
The story follows an adventurous, rebellious young girl, her worried, overprotective mother and a cast of varied and often bizarre characters – this is communicated very clearly on the cover of the book which is what led me to pick it up.
There is a theme of exploration and constant movement through a rich fantasy environment. Usually, Hilda is either getting into trouble or is neck-deep in peril. Various setbacks befall the heroes and the threat level builds slowly, oscillating with brief scenarios of safety.
The environments, supporting cast and scenarios glow with a vibrant charm and warmth. The work is exceptional for a one-man team and a rare accomplishment in the world of graphic novels.
I liked when they got rescued by a troll because it made me feel happy that the troll rescued them.
I really liked it.
One of my favourites in this series.
I love it especially when Hilda found a friendly troll.
I love the Hilda comic books, the drawing are great too.
I love it!
Lots of monsters and adventures that have interested me.
This book is amazing. It ends on a cliffhanger because Hilda turns into a troll at the end. It made me feel really excited and I wanted to read the next one. Baba the baby troll is my favourite character in this book because she is cute.
Hilda is hardly at home any more, seeking days filled with excitement, and her mother can't help but worry... In a moment of tension, the pair find themselves flung far away into a mysterious, dark forest - the land of the trolls! Can they work together to escape the clutches of these sinister stone creatures?
I enjoy the hilda series as it is shart and imaginative. The colours and art style of the characters are unique and interesting.
It was very interesting because the Mum and child had a fight and then got blasted to the stone forest.
This book is funny. I like twig best because he runs very fast. I would recommend this book to my friends.
Really good story beats
The drawings were really good and my favourite character is Hilda because she is really brave.
Hilda swapped places with (and also turned into) a troll kid.
Another fabulous Hilda story, this one showing how a change of perspective can alter your own prejudices. Brilliant story and fantastic illustrations make this another great book in the series.
Strange
I would recommend this for younger children who have just started reading to themselves
I liked it because Hilda was on an adventure but I didn't like it because the mum grounded Hilda.
My favourite part of the story was when the Great Raven comes and rescues them.
I would certainly recommend the Hilda series.
It is very imaginative and magical.
This
it was an adventure story
I loved it. I liked it when Hilda made friends with the baby Troll.
This is good because it’s not set in Trollberg like a lot of the other Hilda books are. This is set in a forest full of trolls. Hilda and her mum have to run away from a two headed troll, lucky they find a friendly troll who helps them.
Hilda is such a brilliant character and her world is full of interesting things like stone trolls and invisible elf villages. She also has a great pet, a deer fox called Twig.
