The second book of Mr Lemoncello's library. It was a very exciting book because of the very last twist in the story. (didn't see it coming!) Definitely recommend it to readers who love twists!

A fun fictional read. Although it's actually the second in the series, it is a great self-contained story Grabenstein weaves snippets of the back story in so you don't need to have read it (like I hadn't - but I might go back to it now).

It cleverly incorporates some unusual vocabulary which the author often clarifies, so you don't feel like you need a dictionary too! He also references several other literary works, many of which were at some point, banned. This book shows the possibilities for modern libraries and helps break the stereotypical /historical view of traditional libraries that is often portrayed eg. silent, stuffy and solely focused on academics. All of which along with some of the strong character opinions creates brilliant opportunities for discussion, outside of the book, about societies views and actions towards literature / libraries, and how things have changed (or not).

The book is a great read! It has a core group of central characters that show the importance of teamwork. Each has their own strengths, but highlights that 'in the moment' and especially under pressure anyone can make a mistake or 'think they know better'. It is great to see a female character demonstrating engineering skills, without it seeming forced or tokenalised. Similarly, that boys can be bookworms too.

The puzzles that are dotted through it, though there aren't many for the reader to solve do add another element of involvement. Some English students may need some of the American references explained / clarified. However, it doesn't distract from the story and shouldn't put readers off. It's short chapters will also help reluctant readers. It's certainly one I will be adding to my class readers.

This book shows a team of five people who have to win a competition to win a scholarship, and remain famous. It is exciting and hilarious with a very unusual plot, and a range of realistic characters.

This book is very entertaining and it makes you really under stand what’s happening. You always know how the characters are feeling and the way that it’s written makes you believe that one thing will happen but it turns out that the total opposite does! A captivating and exciting book that people really should read.
