It was gripping! A real page turning thriller that makes me want to work in MI6! Researching career options now...
I thought the book was excellent because the storyline was very interesting. I liked alan blunt the best because he was very formal and very strict like a teacher. I would recommend it to someone else because had lots of action and alex rider was a great hero in the story.
Very good 9+ though
Exciting stuff!
I did enjoy the story and was definitely an action-packed adventure about a 14-year-old boy called Alex whom due to unforeseeable circumstances ends up joining MI6. From start to finish there was never a dull moment reading this book. I am concerned whether this book would be age appropriate for an upper KS2 class as at times there was quite violent scenes throughout the story. However, I do feel a child in KS3 and around age 14 would enjoy this book!
I found this novel quite predictable with the story plot after Alex had been through his training. The implication of the computer being used for evil acts and the information Ian had passed on implied it was definitely predictable. It wasn't clear until you reach the part of him being in the factory, what the computers will be used for. The twist at the end sets the plot up for another novel. The use of imagery made me feel as if I was there watching the scenes carry out, especially with the scenes in the car yard and the 'bank'.
Alex Rider is a good book for me because I like quad bikes, flame throwers and adventure. It is quite violent.
It’s a great start to a great series- I recommend it to most people.
This book was interesting & thrilling. Each paragraph was a cliffhanger!
its good
I read this a while ago. I am hooked. A great book, I am going to read the whole series!
This book is really adventurous. It leaves you wanting more
i would recommend this series to 9-13 year olds
Read it.
Very exciting and quick paced. A page turner.
A amazing spy novel.
Good book. Very dramatic.Interesting. Would recommend to anyone who likes action and danger.
The story moves at a nice pace which keeps the reader engaged in Alex Riders journey. The book is a spy adventure and has multiple well written action sequences but none of them are overly graphic. The idea of a 13/14 year old spy is thrilling for a young reader and is not something you find very often.
I loved this book for its originality, adventure and the thrilles that snake through your spine as you read this! As soon as you read this, your eyes will be glued to that book and you will be snuck into the world of Alex Rider.
I didn’t think I would find the book as engaging as I did. Lots of action and brilliant dark characters. Obviously shades of James Bond but my class adored the baddies and gadgets! There is a great website with ideas linked to the teaching of this book. I enjoyed how it didn’t ‘baby’ the children and dealt with grown up themes.
Action, exciting read
Really easy to read. It was detailed and descriptive but not too complicated.
Very good. Recomend
Brilliant
I loved the action and adventure in this story. It made me want to continue reading on to find out more.
I reccomend others read it as the story is amazing and you wont want to put it down.
This would be an exciting read for children aged around 10-12. The main character Alex is very likable and you are rooting for him throughout the book. Almost the entire book is action packed which I think will ensure children keep reading and finish the book. This book doesn't have illustrations so bear that in mind if you're the kind of reader who likes illustrations. However, because it's so exciting I think children could get over this. There are more in this series and I think young readers would be keen to read more.
I liked it very much. It was a bit scary sometimes. I liked Herod Sayle the best even though he is a baddie. I would recommend this book to people who like action books.
Quite a good action spy story for teenage and younger readers.
It was really exciting with lots of suspense.
A mysterious adventure that keeps you turning pages.
I thought this fictional text was a book that was exciting and thrilling so I will recommend it to others. And my favourite character is Jack the housekeeper.
