Under Platform 13 at Kings Cross Station is hidden a quite remarkable secret. Every nine years a doorway opens to an amazing, fantastical island. Nine years ago, the island’s baby prince was stolen on the streets of London. Now a rescue party, led by a wizard and an ogre, must find him and bring him back. But the kind prince has become a spoilt rich boy, who doesn’t believe in magic and doesn’t want to go home. Can they rescue him before time runs out — and the doorway disappears for ever? ‘This kind of fun will never fail to delight’ Philip Pullman

My favourite character was Ben because he was very clever and kind. I thought that it was an excellent book with easy spellings. It’s nice getting really exiting waiting for what will happen. I’d say the age group is 6 and over. I think people who like mystery would like it loads.
Loved the gentle and the more obvious humour in the book. Loved the 'hag' heroine was not such a great hag. Good message about diversity and that it is not always the most powerful that get results.
Definitley recommend this book for Year 4/5.
Really Cool.Ive read a few books by Eva Ibbotson and i find them all good
I love their plan to capture spoilt Raymond but then Odge finds out he's not the prince, Ben is!
This book was really exciting and there was magic which i like. I wish I was magic like the people in my book. I would recommend this book.
3 because the boy who was actually the prince didn't want to come, so it was actually the boy who lived in the cellar that actually wanted to come. That was a bit surprising that a prince would not want to come back to his own home land.
