This was my class book, and I loved it. It portrayed a story of loss, loss and finally happiness. I liked Abilene and Sarah Ruth and of course Edward Tulane. I can't believe how smoothly he went from being an vain, obnoxious rabbit to a loving rabbit whose heart had been broken many times, including his head, quite literally. The best bit in the book was the very last pages, when he realises that Abilene's daughter wants to buy him. The saddest was when Sarah Ruth died of tuberclosis.I will definitely recommend this beautiful book to you, it will tell...
Read more...A beautiful story of a lost owner and the realisation of love. Truly heart warming and beautifully written
I like it its quite sad
It is a roallercoaster of emotions I highly recommend
I loved many moments of Edwards life such as Susan and Jangles.I really loved it but there is one very sad moment in it though.
So sweet !!!
I really liked this book for quite a few reasons. Firstly, I enjoyed reading about the adventure that Edward went on but I was a bit shocked that he was able to come back to life after he died. Finally, I liked how at the beginning Abiline and Edward were very close and then they broke apart but after several years they found each other again.
It was good. I like a bit of adventure books.
I would recommend it to somebody else and my favourite character was Sarah - Ruth
This is a beautiful story and is so simply told. It’s like a great legend or saga, for example Peer Gynt, with the central character buffeted by circumstances and events, but gaining wisdom through hardship. Uplifting, moving, a classic. Thoroughly recommended to anyone and everyone.
I thought it was really lovely to read because it shows if you be to self obsessed you will face the consequences.
Also it shows a lot of amazing illustrations
Edward Tulane is a adventurous wonderful and a bit upsetting book with miraculous journeys
this book was very good so Edward Tulane was chinese rabitt. He is special. He is distinguished dignified charming
and very very important Edward does not see him as a simple doll but in fact a insulting and degarding to him
Great story about a slightly pompous toy china rabbit who becomes separated from his owner. The story follows his incredible journey through life, with all its disasters, happy times and unexpected twists and turns. A moving story about finding love in unexpected places and realising that the small things in life are often really the big things. Ideally suited for years 3 and 4.
Edward is my favourite character, I didn’t like when he was thrown from the ship. I would recommend this book to a friend
I thought that this is a great book..
I think that this is good
The girl....
Bc I love journeys....
J would recommend it to anyone who likes journeys..
Simply beautiful!
An exquisite display of kindness and compassion, and the journey to self-discovery.
Perfectly written, sombre and a perfect representation of the transformational power of love!
I read this book as it was one of Pie Corbett's Recommended Page Turners for Year 4. I am in awe of Kate DiCamillo's skill as an author to create a quite detestable character, Edward, and take them on a tremendous journey of self-discovery, experiencing some of life's most tragic and valuable lessons along the way. With each new chapter of Edward's journey, I wanted more and more for him to find his way home to happiness. I became so invested in Edward's story that I read it in one sitting, stopping only after Sarah Ruth's story as I could...
Read more...I liked how Edward Tulane learned to love people properly and enjoy life. I think people who like stories about friendship would love it.
A lovely book with a strong message. I preferred The Velveteen Rabbit. I found it hard to like Edward Tulane, but I enjoyed the story nonetheless. I would recommend it as I think it has a strong message about loving and being loved.
OMG, I absolutely loved this book and so did my class. They would groan every time we had to stop reading and would often campaign for just one more chapter. Demonstrates the importance of love in your life, both being loved and loving others. The people Edward meets along the way on his journey are so different and you get to love them all. There are some really sad bits in this book that might be a bit upsetting for younger children but they allow you to discuss emotions including grief and we had some great class discussions due to...
Read more...I like this book because I like the way that Edward learns something with every owner he has . At first , Edward Tulane only thought about himself but throughout the journey he learns something new.My favourite character is Edward Tulane because he learns something new
Edward went on so many journeys and he wants to go back to the girl
This book is the best it is all about love and kindness i read it at school
it is wonderful
Good
this is a book about a girl that has a toy rabbit which was made with high quality wool, blue buttoned eyes and a gold fabric jacket just for him.the girl named him Edward Tulane. But one day he got lost.I like the girl because she is very kind and loving.
A short novel that has you invested in the character really quickly, as a “rabbit” explores what it means to love and be loved.
Amazing, such a beautiful story! Not what I was expecting!
This is an amazing book! It is all about a rabbit that goes from person to person
on an amazing adventure. Would definitely recommend.
A quick read but a bit too sad
