Destined to be one of THE most important books this year.’ – Melinda Salisbury, author of The Sin Eater’s Daughter. ‘A gripping and harrowing tale … best YA proof I’ve read this year.’ – Charlotte Eyre, The Bookseller. This is one of the most traumatic books I've ever read. Definitely only for older teenagers. The ending left me reeling
It was a very interesting book would recommend to anyone.
This book was a great book about a girl called June who'd lost her mum at a young age and was forced to live with her cruel step mother Kathleen and her daughter Megan. Every single day she would be in fear whenever she came home because she never knew what she might do to her. Until she met Blister, a boy in the woods, who became a special part of her life and helped her to endure all the pain and made her stronger but it didn't last for long when June discovered a deep dark secret that breaks all the trust she had in her dad and she does something that ruins her future for ever. I would recommend this book to anyone
This was a very moving if upsetting read which I would recommend to thoughtful readers who like a story that packs a punch. The characters were well-portrayed if a little unbelievable at times. Some trigger warning for content.
i definitely recommend it as it was so heartwarming and i couldn't put it down.
the author was able to keep you interested all the way through
This book made me fell really upset. I almost cried while reading it. It has really sad parts near the end and I got quite angry at Kathleen for making June suffer so much.
