Birt and Etho are best friends, they play on Sudden Hill, making marvellous contraptions out of cardboard boxes. But then a new boy, Shu, wants to join in too. Birt isn’t sure that he wants Shu to join them. Eaten up with jealousy, he goes home and refuses to come out to play. Until Etho and Shu come to his house with the most marvellous cardboard contraption so far…

Reviews
This book was great because I like to imagine things too. I liked the games they played with their boxes. I was pleased at the end when they all played together.
A nice ending and a nice message.
A lovely book about friendship and making friends
My best bit was when they went up sudden hill, all 3 of them. My favourite person is Etho because I like him.
I like the ending, when they're all friends
It was a very sweet story.
Love a story about 3 boys playing with cardboard boxes
This is my favourite book.
I wasn't that sure about this book, it shows friendship and kindness, but it was a bit sad.
The best person in the book was Etho as he was happy to play three-by -three but Birt played two-by-two and upset because he didn't want Shu int he game.I would recommend this book for 4 to 35 year olds.
I love this book and would recommend it to all my friends!
This is about playing on Sudden Hill and making things out of boxes. They made a supersonic rocket blaster and a super transformer and a sparkling glitter king!
This is a fiction book.
I liked the title of the book ‘on sudden hill’. I liked the go-cart. In the picture where Birt smashes the box I felt sorry for the box.
All about making new friends
i enjoyed this book.
they let people know how they will feel if they have a good sister or brother
It is very nice because I like it because there's like a monster thing. The boy is a bit sad because his friend has someone else to play with so the other boy didn't come to play on the hill anymore.
