A children's/MG+ steampunk look at a future world with moving cities. Once I stopped questioning the How's and Why's of how it all worked, I quite enjoyed it. It's a bit slow to get going but by the end I felt quite invested in the characters. I would definitely like to read on in the series at some point to find out what happens.
It was mind blowing
This book was a big adventure and was an interesting plot. The image of London created was amazingly with great description and good characters.
I would recommend this book because it is exciting and has suspence. I liked that it was set in the future with moving cities on wheels.
Loved this and ready for the next one.
would recomend this to anyone who likes si-fi
Mortal Engines is one of the best books that I had ever read!
I like Hester, Bevis and Katherine because Hester is a stubborn character, Bevis is kind and Katherine is smart. It’s fiction and I definitely would recommend this book!
it was very challenging to read but I enjoyed it.
My favourite character was Hester Shaw.
I loved this book's story line is so imaginative, futuristic and its unlike any other book that I have ever read. The characters are real life and go through many human struggles. My favorite character was Hester because she is so independent and is really brave. I definitely recommend this book to ages 10 and over.
I recommend this book as it is a fun, entertaining story which brings you on an amazing adventure. You grow to love the characters and get to know them. It was definitely one of the best books i’ve read and i will be looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
It is a very good steampunk themed fantasy set in the future where cities are on wheels and are trying to eat smaller cities. It is also one of my favourite books and i would recommend it to people who love steampunk.
Tom is training to be a historian in the moving city of London. One day, he meets Hester, a girl about his age but much uglier - one eye, no nose, scarred face - but Tom finds himself in love with her. They end up running away from London and find themselves on an adventure! But the end was a little sad...if you read it you'll know...
good exciting unexcpected things happening
I thought this book was amazing because it is crammed full of adventure and fantasy. Also it is set in the future and is cool
