Completely revised, this book has been expanded to cover the important developments in recent art, architecture and photography. There is an increased focus on all modern art media, including photography, performance art, installation art, collaboration, video and mixed-media works. Over 100 new illustrations, definitions of new terms and many fresh primary-source quotes enrich the text, and more black artists and women artists are included. Greater contextual information means that the reader is always aware of the political, social and historical context of artists under discussion, further enhancing the value of a book that remains the standard work in its field.

A fantastic overview of the History of Modern Art. It cover the 19th - 20th Century period. Covers Painting, Sculpture, Architecture and Photography. This covers a lot of different styles and movements for this period. This book will provide a very detailed overview of modern art for that time period. I did like the colour plates on Pages 74 and 75. I liked the Works of Kadinsky and the movements that I did enjoy reading about was Art Neaveau. I loved the sculptures that Picasso had created. Wonderful pictures
