I didnt really enjoy this book unfortunately, I found some of the characters to be a bit unnecessary and made to be intentionally unlikeable which ruined some aspects of the story leaving me unable to root for them due to their poor decisions , and the plot twist we were left with at the end felt unnecessary and uncomfortable

I love this book and series!!!!!!! :)

My favourite characters were Clary and Isabelle.
It interested me because of how it was wrote and what was wrote.

This book is an amazing read which always stays a few pages ahead in its pages with twists and turn at every corner. Clary Fray, a young but stubborn girl is introduced to the dreamy world of the Shadowhunters, a secret cadre of warriors sworn to protect the world from demons. I liked all the characters in the book as they all have contrasting and different personalities that make them so unique.
I would recommend this book to teenagers and especially those who like mystery stories with a hint of drama.

It was a great story with a lot of twists and mysteries.
My favourite character was Jace because he always has a plan and remains calm.
I would recommend it to people who like mystery and fantasy stories.

I liked this book, it was full of fantasy and mystery. The characters (although sometimes annoying!) were well thought out and it was engaging.

I would recommend to anyone who like fantasy, romance or even a little horror!

A great series for anyone who loves fantasy fiction. There is no shortage of revelations and twists and turns, as well as plenty of romance.

I enjoyed the book a lot more than the Netflix series - now I can see what all the fuss has been about. Really like CC’s writing style - characters maybe a little bit angsty, but that can be forgiven, I think. In many ways it adds to the believability of the story.

Predictable but can see why students would like it. Stereotypical relationships, element of magic...

I have heard a lot about this series of books and fancied giving it a shout. Considering it’s a fantasy genre I was prepared for it to be a confusing storyline however the characters were well developed and the story arc was easy enough to follow. Very much looking forward to the next in the series that I am hoping to pick up soon!

It was my younger sister who recommended this to me as she is love with the entire world Cassandra Clare has created.
This is an action packed introduction to a well loved YA series that I enjoyed immensely.

it was a mixture of adventure and sci-fi. i absolutely recommend it for all ages

This book is the first book in my favorite seties ever. It’s so funny and the storyline and plot are so cool. There are so many plot twists though and so many surprises but that just makes the book way more interesting and everything fits so nicely in the end. It’s also really interesting because of the legends and folklore it’s based on and the idea of the Shadow World and Shadowhunters is absolutely amazing. My favorite character is Jace because he’s so funny and sarcastic and such an amazing Shadowhunter. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone because it’s so interesting that anyone would love it.

This book series is very intriguing and is a type of story I wouldn't have thought of read until I was recommended it by a friend.

The character i liked best is Jace, because i liked his sarcastic demeanour and he was very amusing.

you should read this book because there are sooo many cliffhangers.I personally will recommend this for teens because there is swearing and stuff not appropiate. Other than that it is a really good and mind capturing series.

This is a great book for older readers. It can be a bit gruesome but if you like a book with a lot of action then this is a book for you. The problem for me is that if you are English like me, some of the American spelt words can be annoying. Over all it is a fantastic book which I highly recommend older readers reading.

I think people should read this because it's full of lots of different supernatural creatures which is fun to read about. I loved all of the characters; they were much braver than I could ever be!

Many interesting characters and an exciting plot! It is a great young adult fiction for fans of adventure and fantasy.
