The Sleeper and the Spindle

It was really fascinating but it was a bit weird as in the drawings were quite weird

This book seems to have characters based on the traditional fairy tales Sleeping Beauty and Snow White. A whole kingdom is asleep because of a curse put on a princess, and a queen from the neighbouring kingdom travels there with three dwarves to kiss the princess and end the curse.
I didn’t like this book much because I found it difficult to read. However, I did enjoy the illustrations because I used to read a lot of books illustrated by Chris Riddell when I was a child.

you think it's about Sleeping Beauty!? It's absolutely different, the brave of the Queen leads the story to a surprise ending, and I like how the Queen stays a wake when the sleeping spell gets stronger. Find this book and find out what different with the original story

Maybe a little hard, but it's a good book.

Neil Gaiman has taken a story we all think we know and given it a twist. I thought I knew where the plot was going but I was pleasantly surprised to find that I was wrong.

Chris Riddell's drawings are stunning, if a little cold due to the use of only red, black and white.

I have given the book 4/5 rather than 5 as I found it a bit clinical and wanted a bit more from it.

This book was really good and it was a good adventure but I think the writing is so small and I will rate this a for the age 10+ think yeah bye

Beautiful, dark and disturbing. A wonderful retelling of a classic fairy tale by the fantastic team of Neil Gaiman and Chris Riddell.

This amazing ,fractured fairy tale is perfect for year 5 readers .I enjoyed this fantastic book where the sleeper was the witch and the witch was the princess .My favourite character was the warrior princess symbolising that women could be heroes too. I would recommend this book to female readers who know girls are more than their looks.

I liked this book but it was a bit confusing at the end. My favourite character was the queen. I would recommend it.

I thought this book was very good. It is about a queen who journeys with three dwarfs to save her kingdom.
My favourite character was the first dwarf, as his attitude and his quips made me laugh.
I would recommend this book to everybody as it is that good.

This book was like Sleeping Beauty. The kingdom across the mountains have been cursed by an evil witch and it's spreading. I liked the atmosphere this book produced but the drawings were scary.

Absolutely loved this beautiful book. It has gorgeous illustrations which work perfectly with Neil Gaiman's reimagining. Very dark and delicious! I will be recommending it to lots of children on our social media pages and when we return to school.

It was a little scary to read about witch being killed, but the curse was ended.

I liked this dark tale. The queen and the three dwarves were very brave. The pictures helped me imagine what the story would look like in real life.

It was different and creepy, a mixture of Disney characters, Snow White, sleeping beauty and rapunzel. I enjoyed it.
