Rediscover the A Puffin Book series and bring the best-loved classics to a new generation – including this special edition of Chinese Cinderella, complete with a special introduction by Julia Eccleshare.

Born into the world with her story already written and woven with bad luck, Adeline turns her attention to school, where she discovers that she is a talented writer, much to Father’s disapproval.

‘Writer! You are going to starve!’

But with a pen in her hand, she can’t help but wonder what it would be like to be a writer – no, an author! It won’t be easy, but Adeline must have the courage to rewrite her story. . .

A moving book. I felt like I was there with Adeline. It was magic! I read it in two days and I had to use a torch to finish it a 9 o clock at night as I couldn,'t wait to finish it in the morning!

I would recommend this book to People in year 6. This book is about a Chinese girl who has been unwanted by her family. Her mother died when two weeks after Adeline was born. Her Father then married her stepmother who was very young. Her stepmother hated her and her siblings and treated them differently to her children. This book is a auto biography of Adeline Yen Mah childhood. I liked this book because It showed how how people get treated differently and how we should be grateful the I am not in her position.

This book would be for 12-14 year old because it has some language and events that you wouldn't understand.this book is a mix between fiction and factual and my favourite person in the book is Adeline with her daring attitude there thick and thin!!!
