It was a good book
This book was amazing. The writing was exceptional, I almost felt like I was there and witnessing the entire story. This book is historical crime fiction. My favourite character was Daisy. She is so feisty and unlike her partner in crime, Hazel, who is always light-headed when she sees a dead body. This book is the start of a wonderful series, written by Robin Stevens.
I loved this mystical book lots and I will hope fully read Arsenic For Tea next and I was surprised hat Miss Griffin did it and not The One or Miss Hopkins or Miss Tennyson did it. Verity’s diary was very surprising because it turned out that Miss Griffin has a baby and it was Verity! Daisy and Hazel are very good detectives but now and again they are a bit stupid! The mystery was great and Miss Griffin was so good at lying that she was not on the list of suspects. This book was so great and mysterious and I like mystery books so it is right up my street. I loved this book.
This a murder mystery set at Deepdeene School for girls. Miss Bell is murdered so Daisy and Hazel set out to find the culprit. I enjoyed it because there were lots of twist and turns in the investigation.
I really loved this book because it combined a mystery and a ghost story. My favourite character was Daisy because she is like me, she jumps to conclusions and likes to be in charge. I want to read the other books in the series.
This book was stunning! It really had me thinking about the suspects and who the murderer was. I really enjoyed this book and was taken aback by the fabulous but unexpected ending! I highly recommend this book for fans of murder and who done it.
Red it
Couldn't wait to read the rest of the series
Think Sherlock Holmes meets girls boarding school! This book has great pacing and unfolds like a true detective novel, with hints and clues dropped throughout. Can you guess who the murder is? The book is also amazing as it tackles issues of bullying, suicide and racial discrimination, in a subtle way that doesn't jar or affect the flow of the story. This was definitely worth the read and I'll be reading the rest of the series!
When Daisy Wells and Hazel Wong set up A SECRET DETECTIVE AGENCY at Deepdean School for Girls, they struggle to find any real crimes to investigate. (Unless you count the case of Lavinia's missing tie. Which they don't.)But then Hazel discovers the body of Miss Bell. And when she and Daisy return five Minutes later, THE BODY HAS DISAPPEARED! Now, not only do they have a murder to solve-they must PROVE ONE IN THE FIRST PLACE . . .
I absolutely loved this book. Its very well written and engaging from beginning to end. A truly intriguing murder mystery. The characters are really enjoyable. I will be ready the rest of this series.
I read this book a while ago. It's very good and I love mystery books, A thriller with lots of plot twists and mystery. Very good!
Two girls at a big school , what could go wrong? But then a teacher gets killed! This mystery book pulls you to the edge of your seat! The perfect whodunnit !
This book made me grip onto each and every page
The beginning of the book was slow pacing and didn’t make much sense but when hitting near the end every single hint and detail that the author had written started to make sense. It was as if a puzzle slowly forming together. The person I liked best hazel aka the main character as she had a lot of potential in her in this mystery but was put down the drains with daisy as she constantly didn’t listen to hazel throughout the story
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves mystery books
an amazing mystery
Good cast of characters. Exposition of the ugly butaility of racism and peer pressure under the genteel veneer of polite British society.
Engaging and thrilling. Makes you never want to stop reading.
I would like to read anther one in the series
When the Science teacher is killed, two girls set out to find out who is the murderer... and proof that they the murder happened in the first place. My favourite character is Hazel because even though she is brave and perseveres like her friend Daisy, she is also selfless and doesn't jump to conclusions. Hazel is also careful and defies the stereotypes about non-white women. This book was packed with adventure and suspense. I would recommend it to young adult readers.
Horrible
I like mystery stories a lot, and this was no exception. Keeps you reading, and has a great plot twist near the end I would recommend this book to mystery lovers. Good read.
I really enjoyed the first of this series. It reminded me of a cross between Malory Towers and Agatha Christie. Would recommend to Y4-6 pupils.
soooo inciting very mysterious definetly going to finnish this series
This book was gripping and I couldn’t put it down. The wordplay in this is fantastic and loved the way you see both sides of Daisy Wells. I liked that the outcome is completely unexpected. My favourite character is Hazel Wong for being such a good detective.
I liked that they solve all 3 mysteries.
fun to read, a gripping mystery and some great characters
It is very exciting because there are murders and they have to try and investigate it without getting murdered themselves. My favourite character was probably Hazel, the narrator, because she is smart, she finds a body and she helps work out the murder with her best friend. People who like detective stories would like this book.
This was the first book in the series set in Deep Dean school, where the main characters -detectives Daisy & Hazel meet. It was full of twists & turns and lots of suspense.
My favourite character was Miss Griffin, who was the murderer, but this was not obvious.
My favourite part was when the detectives found Valerie’s diary, who is the school ghost. They found out about Miss Griffin’s secret.
I would recommend this book to those who enjoy murder mystery books.
It was really exciting and scary. My favourite character is Daisy Wells because she is a really good detective. It was really fun trying to guess who the murderer was!
This book keeps you guessing until the end!
intriguing u never know what will happen
