Born with a severe facial difference, Auggie has been home-schooled by his parents his whole life.
Now, for the first time, he’s being sent to a real school – and he’s dreading it. All he wants is to be accepted – but can he convince his new classmates that he’s just like them, underneath it all?

Brilliant story of Auggie's inspiring experiences.
Altho it may be fiction, it is inspiring, and emotional...
I feel like it talks about real life but in an interesting way.
I read this book more than 5 years ago but I vividly remember how easy it was to get into the story and the sympathy I felt not just for the main characters but also for those around him. It was especially interesting to see how some of them grew in their perspective and how getting to really know Auggie made them realise that appearances can be deceptive and that "what is essential is invisible to the eye".
I read this in advance of teaching it in year 5. It’s fabulous! I watched the film afterwards which doesn’t do the book justice imo.
I have watched the movie and before anyone could grab the book, I did! Everyone is different and unique, especially Auggie. He loves Star Wars and he just wants to fit in without being stared at. Jack Will is his best mate whilst Julian isn't so much. I really enjoyed this book and finding out what happens, I just couldn't put the book down!
extraordinary!
I love how life isn't always easy for Augie. People stick up for him but he also learns to stick up for himself.
Great characters. I want to see the movie
A very intriguing and deep meaning book. I enjoyed it because of the amazing description and realistic struggles. It gave me an insight of how it would be in his mind.
This is one of my favourite fiction books and have read it lots. It has about a boy who is different to everyone else but has hope in the hardest times. I liked it because it was about support, friendships and determination. I would recommend it to people aged 9 - 16.
Would 100% recommend the story has lots of twists and turns
This would for a school, because it tells you that even if you look different we are all the same inside.
It very much interest me as it shows a different opinions of people around him and telling us the difficulties he faces everyday and how he overcomes them .
Loved it! It is so good, i couldn't stop reading it and watching the movie to compare the movie and book. It is so emotional - i got my self shouting at Julian the bully whenever he said something hurtful whilst i was reading the book or watching the movie
I would reccomend for people who like humourous storys. I liked Summer the best because she was the first one to befriend Augast without being asked.
I love this book. You could really feel all the emotions and I like how it changed for the different characters perspectives.
This is the best book I’ve ever read it’s beautiful tearful and lovely. This is a very emotional book. Wonder is about a kid named August who’s dealing with disfigurements and trying to fit in while going through 5th grade.
excellent very well written
It’s been a few years since I last read this lovely book. Fabulous use of different voices to tell the story
I liked this book as it was calm but many bits were sad.
I love this book because it shows that you shouldnt judge anybody on how they look or on how they are
It was a very nice book it was very moving and helped me understand how other people feel.
It’s a heartwarming story about a boy named August,or Auggie. He joins in middle school but he looks different compared to everyone else. It’s realistic and sad at first but the end is really worth it.I liked Jack the best.It interested me because of the motto ‘you can’t blend it when your born to stand out’ I would recommend this to anyone who would like to read a heart warming story.
I loved this book as it showed what someone else’s life might be like. I also loved it as it showed many perspectives. I think that the only reason why it was 4/5 stars is because there was no reason for the dog to die.
The boy August has one eye and he has had 27 surgreys
I found this to be an amazing book, but a very difficult read due to the difficulties August had with others in his day to day life.
I would definitely recommend it to everybody to read to show that everyone is different and we should embrace the differences and not segregate people.
The boy one eyes
I would recommend it because it was interesting and I enjoyed reading it.
My favourite character was Amos because in the fight in the woods he protected the main character
This is a great book showing that you don't have to have a 'normal' life to be shown love. I read it twice and I saw what it actually meant the second time. I not say that here though; I want you to read it. I definitely recommend it to people having a hard time or being bullied, but anyone can read it.
This is a really interesting book. I think my favourite character is probably via, because she is responsible for auggie but also is realistic- she does get mad sometimes! I don't really like auggie so much because he doesn't pay attention to his sisters feelings and is a bit spoiled. He's OK though. Summer is also very nice!
