Dandelion Clocks by Rebecca Westcott will be loved by fans of Jacqueline Wilson, Cathy Cassidy or Annabel Pitcher.
Liv takes us on a journey through her life from ""Thirteen Weeks Before"" to ""Six Months After"". We discover Liv’s passion for photography, her brother’s obsession with sticking to the rules, the stupidity of Moronic Louise at school, and how the family copes as Mum’s terminal illness takes hold . . . Guided by Mum’s own childhood diaries, Liv finds a new way to live.
This book is real, funny, utterly touching and absolutely heartwarming. Despite the sadness at the heart of the story, every reader will laugh and keep on turning the pages, charmed by Liv and her mum.
‘A brilliantly told, ultra modern story about a significant six months in eleven year old Olivia’s life – it should be sold with a large box of tissues!’ Jacqueline Wilson

It was a good book, but not the book for me.Sadly the mother died at the end but a good mother.
This was so well written. I really empathised with Liv and her experience and journey throughout this story. A tricky subject to write about but so accessible for children. The helpful numbers and websites at the back of the book was a great idea. Liv's playlist at the back was a nice add one as well.
Sometimes I find it hard to relate to main characters in books when they’re being really difficult and horrible. However, the main character in this book- Liv -was easy to understand while she was upset and behaving strangely because of the fact someone important to her had passed away. You could tell Liv’s mum had been very important to her because of the brilliant way in which this book was written. For this reason, I give Dandelion Clocks 5 stars.
I almost cried - Almost.
I sobbed too many times to count reading this book. I almost had to put it in the freezer. Such a beautifully told sorry of loss and survival.
I absolutely loved it
My favourite character in the book was Olivia, because she was relatable and she loves photography and I like photography too. She loved reading her mum’s diary from when she was 11/12 and Olivia got help from her it since they had the same things happen to them. This book is by far the best I have read.
The story is very real-life but it is really interesting. My favourite character is Olivia.
very heart warming book. Great for children between 10-15
I think this book is a great book for ages 10 and over as it is very much about life.It has a great storyline and is really gripping.
This book is sad but good
this book is really interesting and sad because at first her mum is with her shopping and having a fun time but then it all changes and something happens and she is heartbroken about it
It made me cry towards the end
This is one the the best books that I have read. It made me literally cry to pieces. You are probably looking at this for a recommendation. If so, I say, READ IT!!!!!!!!
Good for ages 9+

This book is amazing. It shows the different stages Olivia goes through in her relationship with her mother. It is quite sad but it's also a very interesting book.
Very sad but enjoyable
This is a book about family struggles during hard times. I would not recommend this book to people who don't like sad stories because I found this book quite distressing in some places.
I love this book, even though it is a bit sad. This is my short blurb informing you what it is about.
Olivia's mum is starting to teach her different things like how to make spaghetti Bolognese and how to make rules and routines that her brother (who has ortism) can cope with. But Olivia knows there is something her mum is hiding from her.
heartwarming!!
This book is fantastic, really engaging, and I can't put it down! It also has a super fantastic cliffhanger that will make you want to read more!
It was really good but it was a bit sad at the end.
