I’m Dan Hope and inside my head I keep a list of things I want to come true. I want my sister to go to university at the North Pole and come back once a year. I want to help Sherlock Holmes solve his most daring mystery yet. And if it could be a zombie mystery, all the more exciting. And finally, the biggest dream of all, I want my dad to love me.

It is a heart touching book. Must read one. I liked the boy, who’s name was Hope.
I loved this book and it touched me deeply. I felt it addressed absent parents well as well as the difficulties faced when having to accept new people into a family. It made me feel pretty emotional as I could relate to aspects of the book and I understand many of the feelings Dan went through.
I would definitely recommend this book but would say be mindful of the children you are reading it to or with. It is a good book for addressing how different people perceive what they see or hear.
I like this book because I think that it's sad but sometimes it can be funny too. I would recommend this to someone else because they might enjoy it too.
This book is great. It is very sad but fun at the same time.
Really good.
Ok
It’s a boy who has lost his dad and has a new dad.
It was a bit of Comedy . It made me laugh and enjoy it is one of my favourites
I would recommend this book for teens and 10+ children.
I would definitely recommend this book to others - in fact I passed it onto a friend to enjoy once I had finished. It was humorous, heart-warming and kept me guessing about what would happen.
It was fun enjoyable book to read, I enjoyed it being a bit more mature.
I liked it because it's such an interesting view of the world and of people and of jumping ahead in thoughts of what might happen. My favourite character was Daniel.
It is a good book so far, recommend it if you want a sad story which is also inspirational. Very good :) :3
This book is about a boy named Hope, and he has a lot of different dreams that he want s to come true. One of them is that he wants his sister Ninja Grace to go to a university at the North Pole and only come back for 24 hours every year. Secondly, he wants to help Sherlock Homes solve his most daring mystery yet. He has a lot of dreams that he wants to come true, but the one he wants most to come true is, he wants his dad to love him.
I think this book is a 4 star because it have a lot of sad scenes that not everybody likes, but however it is a great book and I recommend it to 7-14 years.
I liked the book because the situation that happened to Dan Hope happened to me and there ar funny bits like Charles Scallybones the First (the dog) who eats EVERYTHING (like toy pirates, pirate ships, handbag tassels,etc.). My favourite character was the protagonist, Dan Hope. I would reccomend it to someone else because, although it goes through dark and grim situations like losing your dad and death, it is funny in places.
A story that could happen in your life. Things that won't happen everyone's life but it can happen in your's
A great read, funny and sad.
I really liked this book a lot. The fact that his dad has left him and he is try really hard to get him back, you then know why the book is called 'A boy called Hope'. This book really makes you think and lots of people can relate to this book, because the same situation (vise versa) has happened to them. I encourage you to read this book. It tells you to have hope, but to also get on with your life and cling on to something forever.
i love it its strange for a boy whos called hope

What a strange name a boy called hope an adventure and a journey finding out why hes called hope
it is heartwarming and you can connect with the characters more as the story goes on
Because its really sad and good
It really does show that hope can go a long way. Dan's dad walks out on him when he is eight and one day- three years later- he sees him on the TV. Dan hopes that his dad will come back and love him again. Dan can't imagine what lies ahead...
