Colin Thompson’s books are mystical and complex, they will appeal to children and adults alike and demand to be returned to as there is always a new image to see . . . something more to catch the eye. Peter and his family live among the Quinces in the cookery section of a mystical library, and at night, when the library comes to life, Peter ventures out of his home to find a missing volume: How To Live Forever

I did not like that the Ancient Child stayed a child forever. I learned that to live forever is not to live at all.
It was a nice book about a boy looking for this book but after the ancient child toldthe little boy about living forever is basicly meaning to not live at all.
Yes I would recommend this to someone because it has alot of adjectives to describe the nouns and if you like books you must read this book
Enchanting - Completely absorbing illustrations, the detail is fantastic, the book titles addictive.
I think the book was quite interesting.
I think its all about books.

This is a lovely story with a great message about how life is precious. The illustrations are beautiful and there are so many things to spot and take in.

it was a good book although I thought it was going to teach you how to live forever. I like how the story started and ended basically I liked the whole story. I really enjoyed reading this book and I'm looking forward to reading more of Colin Thompson's books.
Lets put it This way There was so much to look at in the pictures and it had a LIFE LESSON "Living forever may sound fun but by then all your family and friends would be gone!"
I really liked this book and highly recommend it. It has a catchy title and it is very interesting. The book has suspense woven throughout . I really enjoyed this line, " To live forever is not to live at all ."
My favourite character was the Ancient Child however I have decided that I would not read the book to make me live forever.
Even though this book is brilliant, I think the story could have been slightly longer, thus I gave it 4 not five. But the illustration are stunning and my favourite drawing is the one of the Chinese garden. I would recommend it to anyone who likes fantasy.
Really good story.the books come to life and it has beautiful illustrations.
