What little girl can turn a whole household upside down and breathe new life back into a strange, old manor? The wonderfully contrary, strong-willed, angry, misunderstood Mary Lennox.
When Mary Lennox is sent to Misselthwaite Manor to live with her uncle, everybody says she is the most disagreeable-looking child ever seen. It is true, too. Mary is pale, spoilt and quite contrary. But she is also horribly lonely. Then one day she hears about a garden in the grounds of the Manor that has been kept locked and hidden for years.
And when a friendly robin helps Mary find the key, she discovers the most magical place anyone could imagine…
The perfect heart-warming story for young readers and young-at-heart readers alike.

I would recommend this book to everyone it is wonderful
This book was new to me and i really enjoyed it
This book is a bit sad.
A perfect story - sad, interesting and ultimately happy. I am in love with Dickon, the country boy!
Mary is a very sensitive little girl who moves to her uncles house in Yorkshire because a snake kills her family. She befriends an animal-loving, friendly little boy called Julian, I think his name was, and a cold hearted boy called Colin and Martha, the chamber maid. They discover a secret garden and spend lots of fun times there.
This book made me feel like I should take up gardening and I did after this book. It also made me feel like I should read the other classics and I have read Heidi, Anne of Green Gables , Five children and it, Ballet Shoes and Black Beauty. My favourite characters are Julian,( supposedly), and Mary. I would give this book 10/10 and I definitely recommend it to all you mischief makers.
Medium good story
This is the story of Mary Lennox, who was once a bad-tempered little girl. But when she moved to Misslethwaite Manor, her uncle’s place, she become a kind, caring little girl. I love this book.
exiting great & fun also weird in a way.
Well done Mary, that was nice of you to cheer him up.
I really like this book.Once i read this book i coudn' t put it down. My favrioute character has to be Mary Lennox. At first she was a very spoilt, rude and cruel person but then when she went to Misslethwaite Manor she beame a very kind gentle and polite girl.I like the way she changes her attitude.
In the Secret Garden my favourite part was when Mary found the secret door to the Secret Garden. She meets a friend called Dicken. You should read this because it is a kind and sweet story. It is about meeting new friends and traveling to different countries. One was India which is very hot.
There was a little girl called Mary and she helped a boy called Colin get better and they brought a secret garden back to life with their friend Dickon.
I looked how a bad tempered girl turned into an angel over something we do not think about much which is nature
