Amazing read that got my heart thuding as it was funny but also sad when it needed to be.
I would hate if I had a cat and it died
I thought it was great.
I would recommend this to my friends.
I really liked this book although there are some gruesome parts and disgusting bits of the book! I enjoyed how the grandmother is so caring since the granddaughter has lost her mother, and later on in the book, you find out she’s also lost her cat. The book is about a girl dealing with loss.
It was ok but it was a bit sad. My favourite character was Verity because she cared about her cat and wanted to keep her for ever and ever but sadly her cat died. It interested me because this book is all about caring. I would recommend this book to people aged 9 and over.
I read this in one night!
Its about a girl who's pet has died so she had made a mummy
i love it so much as its got kittens in it
It was a sad story but I found it quite clever. I have a pet cat called Bridget and it made me love her even more. I really like what Jacqueline Wilson chooses to write about.
This is a story of Verity, a little girl who mummifies her dead cat - it has a lovely balance between the devastating loss of a pet, the impact of losing a parent and applying what you learn in school to real life. It is very touching in some places as the whole family grieve the loss of the cat who once belonged to Verity's dead mother. WIlson provides some humour and the charming logic of a primary school girl provides lighter moments. A cat embalmed in lavender bath salts? Not so outrageous when compared to the Union case of a colleague storing his dead cat in the staff-room freezer... Recommended to all teachers who work with upper primary who have not read a Jacqueline Wilson before - you can read it in 20 minutes and honestly, if you have read one Jacqueline Wilson you have kind of read them all...
There is a cat called Mabel and she was little girls cat, which was very old. Her mother died when she was little and the little girl shouted at the cat and then the cat ran away and all of them were so sad. Then the little girl noticed that Mabel had died. She then wrapped Mabel up because she didn't want to Mabel to be buried. She was studying about Egypt where they wrap bandages around cats when they die and they call them mummy cats.
The Cat Mummy was brilliant and I especially liked it when Miss Smith came to her house and gave her the idea of the journal at the end of the story. I would recommend this story to children who are aged 6 - 9 years old.
I Like This Book Because It Tells You Alot About Cats
I liked Baby, Scary, Sporty and Posh the kittens
I liked this book because it was fun to read. I would recommend this book to someone else.
I liked this book because it had a cat which the main character loved, I love my cat, and it was also about the Ancient Egyptians. I'm fascinated by the Ancient Egyptians.
I love Jaqueline Wilson books but I found it sad that the cat died.
I liked this book because it was from my favorite author and loved the illustrations on it. The plot was about a girl calledVerity and a cat mabel and a sad incident with mabel and Verity’s mum,so rate It 4/5stars.
This is a really good book for book lovers. I enjoyed it and I hope you will too.
Bits were sad but it was good
I think it was very good and I would recommend it to someone else. I liked that even though she lost Mabel she listened to her Dad and got another kitten.
I wish the story was a bit longer with some twists. I was pleased Jacqueline Wilson wrote at the beginning to say there would be a happy ending.
I loved this book!
I really like Verity and her gran.
I loved the book, but it was a bit sad.
It was very touching and a good book.
Great
There were some funny bits in this book but it was also good at talking about death to children and how hard this can be
It was sad. I can’t stand animals dying.
