Heritage and book group

A book group where we read books with historical themes each month. The next Heritage Book Group will be held on Monday the 26th of February from 6:30 pm in the Lounge at the Southwark Heritage Centre and Walworth Library. February’s book will be Virginia Woolf’s Orlando. We will be reading the book to celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month. The novel explores gender and sexuality. Woolf was an influential LGBTQ+ writer and published Orlando in 1928, a time when books exploring or inferencing LGBTQ+ themes were often banned. There are copies of the book at the Walworth Library so come and pick one up! These will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis so we would advise you to pop in sooner rather than later if you haven’t already.
