Alston Moor Readers

Our group was established in June 2004 and is based in the local library, where we meet once a month. The county library service provides a comprehnsive catalogues of booksets, and once a year we make a selection of those which we wish to read. Our discusions are always lively and often thought provoking - especially so when opinions are divided! Some of our favourite books include \\\"To Kill A Mockingbird\\\", \\\"The Poisonwood Bible\\\",\\\"The Kite Runner\\\", \\\"The Siege\\\", \\\"Purple Hibiscus\\\", \\\"The Other Side of You\\\", and \\\"Behind The Scenes at the Museum\\\". There are twelve in our group, six of whom are original members and, as we meet in the afternoons, we tend to be either retired, or part-time workers.
