The Urban Explorers Book Club
adults
Come along to our next book club meeting which will take place from 3-5pm on Sunday 3 April in the smart and spacious surroundings of the 5th View cocktail lounge and cafe (5th floor of Waterstone's Piccadilly).
www.theurbanexplorersclub.co.uk
We'll be discussing There Once Lived a Woman Who Tried to Kill Her Neighbor's Baby: Scary Fairy Tales, by Ludmilla Petrushevskaya, a collection of short stories that explore the inexplicable workings of fate, the supernatural, grief and madness and The Summer Without Men, by 'Siri Hustvedt, a tragi-comedy about women and girls, love and marriage, and the age-old war between the sexes.
Please note it is not necessary to read both titles; reading just one will be fine. There will also be time to take a look at some new titles and recommend personal favourites.
If all that talking leaves you thirsty, you will find a great choice of coffee, freshly made juices, beer, wine or cocktails at the bar, and if the intellectual stimulation stimulates your appetite too, you'll be able to order from the varied menu anything from charcuterie to cake.
Please RSVP to guarantee your place (there are only 10 available) on
