Latin American Book Group

The group meets every month excepting August. We read novels, short stories and memoirs written by Latin American authors and they can be read in English, Spanish or Portuguese but the discussion is always in English.
Our discussions are quite informal and by proceeding around the table every member has a chance to air his or her views on the book. All members are entitled to suggest a book for future discussion but because some members prefer to read in Spanish we try to select books that are available cheaply in English and Spanish.
During October we celebrate the formation of the group in 2003 with a dinner in a Latin American or Spanish restaurant.
