Reading Group at South Elmsall Library
adults
We are a mixed group - mixed by sexes, ages, reading experience and we all like to laugh and have some fun.
BUT .... We do manage to keep ourselves on track of talking about books and/or related experience.
We are a surprise for the other Library users when they hear our lively chatter and laughter. The old thought that Libraries should be quiete places does not apply!
Our book choices are taken from the Library H.Q., reading list, although we state a monthly preference and 2nd choice, does not necessarily mean we get our choice of book. Being good readers, we do manage to read the choices received, and have often found we have loved the book even though we didn't 'fancy it'.
Becoming part of a Readers Group (average attendance eight members) has been a life changing experience for all of us, even the shy-ist member is willing to express an opinion and suggest other books we may like to read.
As an added extra, we take part in a six book challenge, the current one is to read six different styles of Crime Fiction books, which has given us a rich seam of books to choose from and to talk about.
