Tuesday Tipplers

adults

Meets at The House of Tippler on

Run by Alec Leggat Library service

Some of us have a tipple, some of us have a nibble but we all read books that we choose in a collective way. Someone proposes a theme or type of book then draws up a list and we vote for our preference. The group is friendly and relaxed and we seem to strike the right balance between enjoyment of reading books that stretch us, and intellectual engagement. This not only with the content of the books, their plotting and characters but also with the act of reading and how important it is to us. If that sounds pompous, then the reality is far from it. We meet on the first Tuesday of each month at about 8:00 in the front part of The House of Tippler on Lordship Lane in East Dulwich. The venue is relaxed and welcoming with a fascinating retro 1970s, and before, decor. And, our hosts are offering to do us a deal on wine and nibbles. A perfect balance.

We meet at: 123 Lordship Lane, East Dulwich, Southwark, London, SE22 8HU
