Newington Library Poetry Reading Group

The group meets to discuss poetry in an atmosphere of enjoyment and appreciation. There is a very varied programme, with the group facilitator choosing a different theme, poet, group of poets or period each month. Members bring poems related to the theme that they already know or have found, though the facilitator often gives a brief introduction. Poems are read aloud and everyone is free to join in the discussion in response. The group also occasionally hosts readings by poets.
